Kodak EasyShare P880

I recently started getting more serious about photography, a passion of mine for some time but not one that I made known as a strong interest. I have heavily been involved in art and movie making for years, and writing and web stuff, but photography was something that just seemed out of my reach because my favorite photographers were just too good.
Even though I knew I might never reach the level of the most respected photographers there were also a lot of working photographers who I was not impressed with and was sure I could provide a better service and product with the proper training and practice.
I decided I needed a 6 mega-pixel camera at the very least with manual capabilities and additional lens options. I spent several days researching and reading reviews of all of the higher end digital cameras out there and knew I wouldn’t be ready for the best camera out there, (nor did I have the money to spend.)
When my dear friend Rob sent me a Koday EasyShare C340 I was blown away by how good the image quality was and how easy it was to use. I fell in love with this camera and spent several weeks snapping away like crazy.
It became apparent that I would need a higher resolution camera and so I started my research again, but was so in love with my Kodak that I decided to check out what else Kodak had to offer and what I found was pure bliss.
For less than $400 I found an 8 mega-pixel camera with manual control, options for picking up more wide angle and telephoto lenses, a built in wide angle capability that was in itself a completely adequate and wonderful feature. (I have always been frustrated by the inability of other cameras to take a wide shot.)
The Kodak EasyShare P880 is the perfect camera for not only beginning photographers and those who want to learn photography, but a wonderful camera for the average family who just wants to take great family pictures. For the price, there is no excuse not to pick this camera up and you will be hard pressed to find a better picture image from another 8 mega-pixel camera.
I have taken the camera on a dozen hikes from the beaches of California to its mountains, and on event shoots, and recently portrait shoots and don’t think I have ever found a more user-friendly professional quality camera.
The Kodak P880 is simply a great camera for a crazy cheap price. (Seriously, you cannot even get a lens for most cameras for $400.)
We will constantly be updating this review, sharing useage stories and posting our results on our Flickr.com account. We also hope to pick up an additional flash, lenses and other accessories and will review them.
Kodak is a company that America has trusted for decades and it is no surprise to me that they have evolved with the times and with technology to find new and exciting ways of serving the picture taking public. What will astonish most though is the fact that they delivered such a beautiful 8 mega-pixel camera for such a low price.
If you are looking for a higher quality camera or want a great camera to learn the ways of photography, the Kodak EasyShare P880 will become an extension of your hand and something that you will never leave your house without.
Thank you Kodak for such a great product.
